CYNTHIA ABILA SS 26 — THE BRIDGE THAT DIVIDES US

CYNTHIA ABILA SS 26 — THE BRIDGE THAT DIVIDES US

The Bridge That Divides Us is a meditation on life’s transience and the timeless resilience of the feminine spirit. It is the sacred space where endings breathe into beginnings, and where femininity stands eternal: fragile yet powerful, mortal yet divine. It is an ode to that in-between space between life and death.

The SS26 collection tells the story of the spiritual passage where women, ancestors, and unseen forces intertwine. Inspired by the masquerade, a being neither living nor dead, this collection explores the feminine as the eternal bridge: the one who carries life across generations, who mourns, who heals, carrying the whispers of ancestors while birthing the future. On the other hand, the masquerade, is that sacred bridge, a spirit suspended between worlds, unseen yet deeply felt.

Through our fabrics, textures, and silhouettes, we show that femininity is not bound by life or death; she flows between them, constantly reborn and ”That is where our collection begins.

Each piece tells its own tale, becoming a language of transition. Drapes flow like time, hand-woven textures echo ancestral threads, raffia, cowries, and earthy tones speak of continuity, of what was, what is, and what will be reborn. And then there are those in between….the ombré hues, where light fades gently into shadow, just like life itself, always moving, never still.

The silhouettes blur boundaries, structured yet fluid, grounded yet ethereal, reflecting the paradox of womanhood itself; strength wrapped in softness, mortality breathing through grace.

The Bridge That Divides Us is our love letter to the joys and sorrows that make us human, to the spirit that lives in each of us, and to the bridge that connects us, even when we seem divided. The Bridge That Divides Us is not a farewell. It is a return to self, to spirit and to the timeless essence of woman.

Designer’s Statement :

“This collection is a reflection on how women embody continuity and how we hold both memory and promise. The masquerade, for me, is that sacred bridge: a spirit suspended between worlds. Through our fabrics, textures, and silhouettes, I wanted to show that femininity is not bound by life or death; she flows between them, constantly reborn.”
